All about Naturally Curious Childcare

Our website reflects the ethos of our nurseries fun, caring, personal, yet with a professional approach. If you’ve visited any of our day nurseries, I’m sure you’ll agree what a homely, warm and friendly environment we have created. We hope this website goes some way to reflect and recreate this “virtually” for all our online visitors. Having been involved in children's nurseries since 2004, Naturally Curious Childcare's first nursery was based in Farnborough and called Pebbles.

When we took over in 2011 it was in a bit of a sorry state, needless to say it was a baptism of fire and a steep learning curve. After years of blood, sweat and tears Pebbles is now a highly recommended nursery within the area providing high quality care for many families. We are very proud of what we have created within this setting and it continues to go from strength to strength. Pebbles is full most of the time and we have repeat parents booking 2 or 3 years in advance on some days!

In November 2017 we took over our second nursery, this time on the south coast in Totton, renaming it Pinecones and offering a full refurbishment, refit and a new staff team. This setting needed a lot of work and was a real challenge for us, we spent a lot of time with the team and improving the environment and managed to double our children on roll within a couple of months. Pinecones is currently thriving under our amazing management team who work tirelessly every day.

In 2018 we acquired Stepping Stones Day Nursery in Eling, Southampton which is an Ofsted Outstanding setting - the staff team remaining unchanged taking on our approach and ethos they have taken everything in their stride and continue to provide amazing care. Stepping Stones is situated in a converted house and has that real homely environment which we love.

Towards the end of 2019 we have taken on our fourth nursery and we are excited for this new venture and very proud of everything we have accomplished throughout our other settings. Our latest nursery is based in Basingstoke and being renamed The Willows Day Nursery to fit in nicely with our ethos. We believe this setting has huge potential and we have some big ideas including housing our head office management team, extended hours, the employment of a chef to provide those yummy home cooked meals a brand new baby room opening in January 2020!

Who are Naturally Curious Childcare?

We're very lucky to have an excellent staff team, led by our Area Manager Emily Suttling. Emily has been at the forefront of the recent group wide nursery renovations and expansions and is our Curiosity Approach Champion. She makes sure all the children are nurtured and loved in their own nurseries while helping the managers develop the nurseries with their systems, planning, quality, approach, teaching and learning and creating amazing learning environments. Emily previously managed Pebbles for four years prior to her promotion and developed a tight staff team and an amazing reputation, something that she has managed to build across all our nurseries.

Each manager has full control of day to day activities and are able to create their own staff teams, they've done an amazing job of getting the right teams together to care for your children. Although all of our nurseries follow the same ethos they are all unique in what they do. Each nursery has a different feel and the teams are involved in the day to day set up and how the approach is delivered. Our superb management team consists of Victoria, Gemma, Deana, Sarah and Tash who all work closely together to share best practice and ideas for their settings.

Nursery Director Neil Dudman, is always in and out of the settings making sure we're meeting the highest of standards. Neil is also a dad of two boys who came through our nurseries, so understands the stresses and strains working parents face daily. Neil is known for being handy with a drill and is often given tasks by the team to build and create new exciting things for the children, however his main job is to look after the business side of the nurseries, marketing and to be on hand to guide us as all as a team. Neil is also well known in the nursery sector for his coaching and mentoring of other nursery owners throughout the UK. We are joined by Marie Anderson who takes care of head office tasks such as invoicing, accounts and admin.

Happy Staff are what we all strive for in the Naturally Childcare, we know that a happy settled staff team ensure that your child will be the same - In fact we even offer a Happiness Guarantee, allowing your child unlimited settling in sessions until they and you are completely happy and secure.

So, sit back, grab a cup of tea and have a good look around.

Pear Tree Day Nursery are are are without a doubt, the best nursery in he local area, if not the country. The children are loved, nurtured and developed within the family environment that the owners and staff have created. The love, care, and understanding of each and every as child as an individual is unique, and refreshing. The consistent environment, home cooked on site, well balanced, varied meals meals and snacks are amazing, and all children are encouraged to try new things, with even the fussiest eaters joining in, all the while learning and embracing new experiences, and gaining confidence in themselves as individuals. The level of knowledge and qualifications of all staff is second to none. My only criticism is, my my children had to Leave! Not only do Pear Tree care about their children, but they also care about about the families too. All are are invited and welcome to discuss their children's progress, and get involved with the various activities within the Nursery. I feel truly blessed to have been, part of something so special and and so unique, and to have been able to watch both of my children develop into the amazingly bright, confident, healthy children that they are today. I cannot thank Pear Tree enough, and would highly commend them (and regularly do) to any parent/care provider looking for something above and beyond the 'standard'!
